Conditional "Syllogism"
Disjunctive "Syllogism"
Induction
- Type of abstraction
- Enumerating all (or representative) population within genus and drawing a conclusion
- NOT a syllogism; NOT ALWAYS demonstrative unless exhaustive
Example
Even weaker than induction. Combines an induction with a syllogism:
Since... D is A D is B ------ B is A Therefore... B is A C is B ------ C is A
Enthymeme
- Looks like an abbreviated syllogism
- Doesn't necessarily yield a conclusion unless the appealed sign is infallible
