Some translations will use different words, but these are the words that will be used in this class.

Hierarchy of Regimes

Conversion

Socrates calls the process of "enlightenment" that comes with philosophical pursuit/upbringing a turning around or turning upward.

Twigs Demonstration

  • We can identify similarities and differences among distinct objects (in this case, twigs with leaves and twigs with seeds).
    • Despite the differences, there is a unity or "one-ness" that we pick up on
    • the whole and its parts
