Welcome to my personal notes Wiki. This site is a collection of notes that I have accumulated from various sources—most notably my professors and textbooks—over the course of my higher education journey.

Prayer Before Study / Oratio Ante Studium

St. Thomas Aquinas S. Thomæ Aquinatis
Ineffable Creator, who from the treasuries of your wisdom have demarcated three hierarchies of angels, have gathered them together in wondrous order above the fiery heaven, and have arranged the parts of the universe most elegantly; Creator ineffábilis, qui de thesáuris sapiéntiæ tuæ tres angelórum hierarchías designásti et eas super cælum empýreum miro órdine collocásti, atque univérsi partes elegantíssime distribuísti;
You who are proclaimed the true font of light and wisdom, and the source who excels beyond all things: Tu, inquam, qui verus fons lúminis et sapiéntiæ díceris ac superéminens principium:
Deign to pour forth a ray of brightness upon the dark shadows of my understanding, removing from me the twofold darkness into which I was born, sin and ignorance. Infúndere dignéris super intelléctus mei ténebras tuæ rádium claritátis, dúplices, in quibus natus sum, a me rémovens ténebras, peccátum scílicet et ignorántiam.
You who make eloquent the tongues of infants: educate my tongue and pour forth upon my lips the grace of your blessing. Tu, qui linguas infántium facis disértas, linguam meam erudias atque in lábiis meis gratiam tuæ benedictiónis infúndas.
Grant to me keenness to understand, capacity to retain, skill and ease to learn, subtlety to interpret, and plentiful grace to speak. Da mihi intelligéndi acúmen, retinéndi capacitátem, addiscéndi modum et facilitátem, interpretándi subtilitátem, loquéndi, grátiam copiósam.
Guide the beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to fruitful completion, you who are true God and true man, who live and reign, world without end. Amen. Ingréssum ínstruas, progréssum dírigas, egréssum cómpleas, tu qui es verus Deus et homo, qui vivis et regnas in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, Who did instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit,
grant that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise, and rejoice forever in his consolation.
Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Veni Sancte Spiritus, reple tuorum corda fidelium: et tui amoris in eis ignem accende.
Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur.
Et renovabis faciem terrae.

Oremus.

Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti,
da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere, et de eius semper consolatione gaudere.
Per Christum, Dominum nostrum. Amen.
